GMC launches all-black Yukon Denali for Australian luxury SUV market

General Motors Specialty Vehicles has introduced the GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black, a fully blacked-out version of its top-tier three-row SUV, designed exclusively for Australian and New Zealand customers. The model, priced at $181,490 before additional on-road costs, incorporates aesthetic and functional upgrades tailored to regional preferences.
A bold exterior design
The Signature Black features Onyx Black body paint paired with “Black Vader Chrome” accents on side moldings, the grille, and the lower rear fascia. Additional gloss black elements, including hood moldings, roof rails, and 24-inch wheels, reinforce the monochromatic theme, while an illuminated GMC emblem adds a contemporary touch. These modifications align with the rising demand in Australia and New Zealand for aftermarket blackout packages among luxury SUV buyers.
Under the hood, the Signature Black retains the standard 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 313 kW and 624 Nm of torque. The same 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system are included, ensuring performance consistency while the special edition emphasizes visual appeal and enhanced comfort features.
The interior introduces several high-end refinements, including second-row captain’s chairs, a feature previously requested by Australian and New Zealand customers. Jet-black leather seating, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and a power-sliding center console raise comfort levels. Technological upgrades include a 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 15-inch heads-up display, and dual 12.6-inch rear-seat screens paired with wireless headphones.
Additional cabin enhancements include a 14-speaker sound system and wireless phone charging. Despite its premium styling, the Signature Black maintains the Denali’s robust towing and off-road capabilities, featuring a 3,628 kg towing capacity, a two-speed transfer case, and an ADAS safety suite with a 360-degree camera that includes hitch guidance.
General Motors Australia and New Zealand’s acting managing director, Greg Rowe, described the launch as a direct response to customer feedback. “The Yukon Denali Signature Black reflects how closely we listen to our customers,” he said, highlighting the balance between high-end aesthetics and practical functionality. The model’s pricing and features position it as an attractive option for buyers who value both style and capability.
