Mahindra has returned to Australia with a series of competitive vehicles aimed at a global audience. Its latest offering, the 2026 XUV 3X0, is a crossover SUV priced from $23,990 drive-away. The top-spec AX7L model tested here costs $26,990.
How the 2026 Mahindra XUV 3X0 compares to rivals
At that price, buyers can also consider a fully equipped Chery Tiggo 4, the base MG ZS Turbo, or the entry-level Haval Jolion. Those preferring more established brands might choose the aging Hyundai Venue or the slightly pricier Suzuki Fronx, though both are smaller and less feature-rich than the Mahindra.
The XUV 3X0 competes well on equipment. The AX7L trim includes 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, synthetic leather upholstery, dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a Harman Kardon audio system. It omits some premium touches like heated or power-adjustable seats, but the feature list remains strong for a budget crossover.
A design that moves beyond Mahindra’s past
The 3X0 has a polished appearance. After years of awkward SUV styling, the company has produced its most cohesive model yet. The front and rear designs feature clean lines, a two-tone roof, and diamond-cut alloys, a clear improvement over its earlier, bulkier designs.

The vehicle shares its platform with the SsangYong Tivoli, reflecting Mahindra’s former ownership of the South Korean automaker. This heritage is visible inside, where some switches and the lower center console feel familiar.
